Vic
Firth Keyboard Mallets combine a variety of materials with several head
shapes to address a range of instruments and all dynamic levels. The yarn
models are wound with 3 ply nylon yarn that is virtually indestructible
yet produces excellent cushioning for a softer sound. The cord models
are wrapped with a harder finished material which produces a stronger
percussive effect. The unwound models feature hard rubber or super-hard
phenolic heads for maxium sound.
American
Custom®
mallets feature birch shafts for rigidity and consistency and are
favored by players who prefer extra reach without the added flexibility
of rattan. All Custom mallets are 16" long and sold in pairs.
For
the discriminating orchestral and symphonic band performer, the
Orchestral Series offers six mallets designed for xylophone and
seven for bells. With an extraordinary amount of sound color possible,
these mallets feature rattan handles and are also an outstanding
choice for marching band and drum & bugle corps.
Designed
for the solo marimba performer, these mallets feature a large rubber
core wrapped in 100% wool yarn for an enhanced, warm, full bodied
sound. Their extra weight offers greater sound volume and projection.
Each
Vic Firth Signature Series model was conceived through extensive
discussion and research with the finest keyboard percussionists
from a variety of musical styles. The designs are a reflection of
their musical requirements in terms of balance, feel, hardness &
tone color.
The
marching keyboard mallets for xylophone and bells feature a two-step
design with rugged plastic handles and fiberglass shafts for maximum
response and durability. Corpsmaster® keyboard mallets feature
heavy heads wrapped with a synthetic blend cord which provides improved
durability and better weather resistance than wool yarn. The marimba
mallets are constructed with birch shafts, while the vibe mallets
feature rattan shafts.
